Which way is the bathroom?

We've been talking about technology in the workplace or in just general use a lot recently.  One of the main points that comes up about technology being detrimental is the idea that it sets us back socially and changes the tone and the way we interact with others.  This is based on the idea that if you don't use it, you lose it (social skills).

For young professionals who are trying to adapt and change their lives from a knowledge thirsty college student to a successful under paid member of the workforce, social interaction is very important.  There is a reason why the interview process is still in effect.  The majority of jobs in the work place don't hire just on resume alone... They require a face to face interview.  This is to make sure that you're not a socially inept, situationally uncomfortable, straight A student who has lived in your parents basement since birth.

Yet, no one who is technologically fluent, has attended college, or socially networks 100 percent despises technology.  There is no argument that it has made our life more efficient, productive, and allows us to attain information that was not readily available like generations past.  I can sit on my couch, change the volume, talk to my grandmother, text my brother, listen to music, take videos, find any bit on information on the internet, write a paper, check my bank statements, email, see who's winning the game, see pornography, see what time it is in Australia, find the quickest route to a Pottery Barn in New Jersey, buy a raincoat on Ebay, or play a mindless game of Tetris.... All within 4 minutes on my Iphone.  We may not need all that technology at my fingertips to lead a successful life.... But it is awesome....

Social skills are very important.  They are as important as anything you've learned in any class that you've taken so far in college.  A good interview is almost as important as a good resume.  I think that people who are socially uncomfortable are just socially uncomfortable.  For years and years there have been people who are just not quite there in group situations.  Technology hasn't made me less able to communicate and function... It has made me a much more informed, much more ADD person who can GPS my way to the bathroom if I need it.

The truth about fitness

At this exact moment I fall into the category of college savant.  I have under my belt 6 solid years of collegiate studies.  These fond, wholesome years have supplied me with an array of experiences:

Credit card debt
A veritable library of books on any subject you can imagine
Females that will never speak to me again
Females that may speak to me again
A volume of drinking games, stories, and fragments of memories that may or may not have happened

But MOST importantly....  At the end of this year, I should have acquired 2 undergrads and 3 minors.  None of which I began college seeking. Nor will I most likely use either one of them.

So if you trust your parents at all when they told you to respect your elders.  Listen up.

As prominent and abundant as exercise and weight loss blogs are... They are a veritable wealth of hopes and dreams as opposed to real facts.  These Cinderella stories of weight loss pills and green tea diets who promise you the world are nothing more then a drug pedaling, possibly anorexic girl who mistook water weight for fat loss.

The sad truth of the matter is there is no wonder diet.  Exercise and eating healthy is the only sure method of weight loss that is scientifically proven to keep the over fed, optimistic American thin and trim.

Get into the gym, stay away from Wendy's (except for the chicken nuggets.  Fantastic), and stop spending money on weight loss schemes.

I love you all
